A poetic drama about loss and recovery amid the Castellani Art Museum exhibition of Cuban surrealism. Written a year before “Anna in the Tropics,” which earned Mr. Cruz his Broadway debut and the Pulitzer Prize, the play follows an estranged brother and sister to their childhood home in Cuba for the Pope’s visit. After seeing one another, the sister flees and takes refuge in a mystical miraculous place until she is finally able to approach her brother and confront their dark past. Despite the adult situations, the play is infused with hope, humor and healing.
